What is Text Predictor?

The Text Predictor is a Software As A Service package that helps users to compose text in English, easier, faster and better than ever.

Does it log my text somewhere ?

Neither the Text Predictor NOR AItype will log any of the user's text. The text that is written is analyzed online,
and is used to predict the next phrases and words in the sentence or paragraph.
The only text that is logged is the publicly available data that was used to build our data model.
That is why, when a new user enrolls to use the software, he/she can immediately make use of and enjoy this service.

Can anyone reverse engineer and figure out my text ?

The Text Predictor uses a proprietary protocol to communicate with it's servers.
If someone wanted to break the protocol and rebuild the sentence back to it's original structure, it would take forever, and would not justify the time spent.
In addition, our well protected servers do not hold any valuable information that is not publicly available,
so breaking into our servers is not justified. As mentioned, there is no well structured information in there in any case.
AItype guarantees NOT to make any attempt to rebuild the text that was written by it's customers and users,
for anything other than the software functionality.

How does it work ?

Text Predictor suggests words as you type. The suggestions offer correct spelling, grammar, and even translation of words for you into the foreign language that you configure. Text Predictor communicates online with a huge database of common and uncommon phrases and words. By using a sophisticated mathematical algorithm, Text Predictor is able to offer the right word based on the context of your previously entered words.

How do I work with it ?

Upon installation, the client needs to be configured with the user's preferences: Translation Language, Suggestion list color scheme , List contrast level and Application Ignore list.
Later on, the user needs to decide if he/she would like to select the first word in the list as the default selection or leave the enter to start a new line.
Once client is configured, you are ready to start using the software.
Now it is up to the user to adopt the way he/she wants to use the software.
-The Fast Typer will keep their hands on the keyboard and will type normally, pausing once in a while to find the right word or to find the right spelling.
-The Hesitant Typer would pause every once in a while looking for the suggestion list to pop out with the right suggestion.
-The Slow Typer will keep their right hand on the arrows, while the left hand will key in characters which are used to pick out the right word.
-The  Less Confident Typer will rely on the software to translate the words into their mother language, in order for them to pick the right word.
At any time, you can change the client's behaviour and properties to match your preferences. At any time you can disable the client by hitting the ESC key, clicking on the icon on the taskbar, or hitting the left arrow key.
You can also use the mouse to select words instead of hitting the enter key.

Experienced users can continue selecting words from the list and "chain" them one to another until the entire sentence is complete.

Can I ignore it's suggestions ?

Oh yeah! If you are a fast typer, you can ignore completely the suggestion list, as though you've never used it , and it'll disappear from the screen.
When you pause for few milliseconds , it will again try to suggest the right words.
Even if you delay your typing, the Text Predictor will try to offer the right words, but it will not force you to use them.
It will fade out elegantly, leaving you with the original text you have written.

What do I need to install in order to get it?

Just download the software from the AItype web site, and the installation process does the rest. The installation process checks if you have .Net Framework support, and will install it right from Microsoft website if necessary. You will need to enter your email address in order to activate it. Once done with the installation, hit the shortcut and you're online.

Does it interfere with my writing?

You don't need to be concerned. Just type as you normally would, and watch the suggestion list offering words. You can ignore suggestions, or you can decide to use the suggested words either by clicking on them or by highlighting them with the arrow keys and pressing Enter.

Does it change the way I'm writing now?

This depends on the user. One possibility is to use the suggestion list for all or most of your writing. Use the left hand to key in beginnings of words and the right hand for selecting the words you want. Words are selected either with the arrow keys and Enter, or with the mouse. Another way to use the software is to type as you normally would, and use the suggestion list only as a way of finding just the right word, or to check the correct spelling of a word.

Will it suggest words that I didn't think of?

This is the whole idea. The Text Predictor will try to predict words according to their context.
Research indicates that the typical college graduate has at his or her disposal a passive vocabulary of 60,000 words. Out of that, only 10,000 words are used actively. For people that do not read often, only 6,000 words are actively used. Text Predictor will help the average user to access the rest of the unused 50,000 words that are commonly neglected.

Does it support all applications?

Our software supports a growing list of applications. All supported applications are automatically detected, and if a user doesn't want support for a particular application, he or she can easily configure the software to ignore it.

Can I use it without an Internet connection?

While running, the Text Predictor requires an online  connection to the Internet. In order to be quick and responsive, the user's computer does not hold any information, but queries an online database for the acquisition of information. The database is c2onstantly being updated and therefore, is always relevant.

Can I use it when I'm doing Instant Messaging ?

It depends on the Instant Messaging software that is used. Generally speaking, the IM software applications that use browsers (Facebook , Gmail,  etc.) are supported. Currently, Internet Explorer and Firefox are supported, and we’ll be adding more applications in the future.

Does it support other languages?

Currently, the Text Predictor supports English. As such, it is a particularly useful aid for English Second Language (ESL) users. In versions to come, we will add support for European languages as well.

How can I tell if I chose the right word?

In the premium version, there is a built in dictionary that translates the suggestion list. By running through the list and watching the translation of the suggested word, one can tell if the chosen word is the right word.

Can I choose a different style of writing, for example Legal style ?

This feature is planned for a future version, which will be available for Premium users.

Does it always suggests words in the right grammar and syntax?

Not necessarily. Our software offers real language, as it is used every day. It may suggest words that are not perfect English but are of the right relevance. For example, slang terms can be offered if the words are relevant enough to be suggested.

Can I involve two languages in the same sentence ?

Future versions (premium) will have multi-language support. The software will automatically identify language and will offer words according to that language.

Does it "learn" my style and language ?

Not Currently. In future versions, premium users will enjoy the capability of the software to “learn” the individual user's language, vocabulary and style. Of course, the user needs to be responsible NOT to “feed” the software wrong and mistyped words.

Do I have an obligation to purchase it, or I can try it first for free?

You can try the basic version for free for an entire year , until you decide whether to purchase the software or to purchase the premium version.

What if I decide to purchase a license, and regret it after a while ?

You may stop the subscription anytime you like. You will be charged just for the last month that the software was in use.
